The good news is that Netflix has finally started testing the service. The bad news is that it’s exclusive to Netflix Poland for now.

When is Netflix’s gaming service coming to other territories?

Netflix’s plan to become (funnily enough) the Netflix of gaming is no secret. As part of its intensified effort to capture more audiences and expand its reach, Netflix is tapping into an entirely different industry. Although there were earlier reports that Netflix was working with PlayStation in its latest venture, it appears that Netflix is going at it alone in its initial test run. At launch, Netflix Poland subscribers on Android devices will have access to Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3. While Netflix probably intends for its app to become a central platform, it doesn’t work like that at the moment. Subscribers will still have to download either game from the Google Play Store and install it on their phones before logging in using their Netflix credentials to gain access. Once installed, players can launch the games directly from inside the Netflix app or by launching the actual gaming app.

Today members in Poland can try Netflix mobile gaming on Android with two games, Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3. It’s very, very early days and we’ve got a lot of work to do in the months ahead, but this is the first step. https://t.co/yOl44PGY0r — Netflix Geeked (@NetflixGeeked) August 26, 2021 As per Netflix’s statement, its latest expansion is still in its very early stages. This should explain why it’s exclusive only to Poland. However, one thing that we are curious about is Netflix’s decision to test its gaming arm in Poland. Their stated reason was that Poland had “an active mobile gaming audience”, but you could also say that for the rest of the world. Interestingly enough, Sony also chose to test PS Plus Video Pass in Poland months ago. Is this confirmation that the rumored PlayStation and Netflix partnership is in the works? Maybe. Maybe not. At this point, that’s just mere speculation. With that said, making Netflix’s Stranger Things game available to a wider audience is a good idea. As revealed a couple of weeks ago, Season 4 is coming soon. The games should help drum up more interest as Stranger Things 3 is essentially a playable version of the third season of Stranger Things.
