Guerilla confirmed that the upcoming PSVR 2 game, Horizon Call of the Mountain, will be available day and date with the PSVR2. The first spin-off to the pair of Horizon games puts you in the shoes of a former Shadow Carja Warrior, Ryas, who’s looking to redeem himself. The early reviews of the game are positive so far, which is a good sign. Call of the Mountain is a PSVR 2 game through and through and should showcase the capabilities of the next-gen headset. Having said that, you can now pre-order Call of the Mountain for $59.99 / £59.99/ €‎69.99 / AU$109.95 directly from the PlayStation Store. A more expensive bundle will set you back $599.99 / £569.99 / €‎649.99 / AU$959.95, but will include a VR headset, two PSVR2 Sense controllers, and a copy of the PSVR2 game. Sony has promised that the PSVR 2 will have nearly a dozen titles at launch, which should distract some from the fact that the PSVR2 will cost nearly twice as much as the PSVR. The massive library is necessary since Sony has confirmed the PSVR2 isn’t backward compatible with PSVR games. PSVR 2 owners can also look forward to immersing themselves in horror with Resident Evil Village and in outer space in No Man’s Sky. Each should offer a unique experience and the best part is they’re all available on the PSVR2 right out of the gate. Hopefully, Sony will continue adding more games to the PSVR 2 as we get closer to its launch, and much more so when it’s out. In the meantime, you can rest easy knowing that Sony will have enough PSVR 2 units to meet the demand. Of course, we can’t say the same for the PlayStation 5, which you’ll still need for the PSVR 2 to work. The last we heard, the stock shortage situation has improved.
