Treyarch Studios confirmed that players of the latest Call of Duty game will enjoy multiple competitive modes and ranked skill divisions as well as visible skill ratings and a top player leaderboard, among others, not too long from now. Treyarch promises to reveal more about Modern Warfare 2’s ranked play in a later update. Until then, Modern Warfare 2 players looking to scratch that competitive itch can play the CDL Moshpit playlist on November 16 when Season 1 launches alongside Warzone 2.0 and the new DMZ mode. In addition, Treyarch confirmed that it’s shutting down Black Ops Cold War League Play and Vanguard Ranked Play in a few weeks, giving players only until November 12 to claim their rewards. It’s imperative that Modern Warfare 2 gets Ranked Play as soon as possible. After enjoying the biggest weekend outing in the franchise, Modern Warfare 2’s popularity will only grow. Now that most have already enjoyed the single-player campaign rewards and are looking to test their mettle in multiplayer, Ranked Play is a must. Although Treyarch didn’t reveal more about the ranks for Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, an earlier leak suggests that the ranks will be:

Iridescent Crimson Diamond Platinum Gold Silver Bronze

Most likely, we’ll find out more about Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play right around the same time Activision confirms that the game is getting premium DLC next year.
