There has always been a weapon and meta shift throughout the lifecycle of Warzone, and now, with its integration in Cold War, it is no different. You get a plethora of weapons to choose from - both MW and Cold War weapons. Below, we have listed some of the most popular and most used weapons in Season 1 of Warzone after the Cold War and Warzone integration according to the stats provided by wzranked. We’ve also covered the most popular attachments for the weapon, according to the stats.
10. HDR
Taking the number tenth spot is the good old hard-hitting sniper rifle - the HDR. This sniper rifle has been one of the most consistent sniper rifles throughout the Seasons before and after the Warzone and Cold War integration. Unlike other sniper rifles in the game, this one has an excellent range and bullet velocity, given you put the right attachments on it. The HDR will certainly slow you down, and it is definitely not made for “quick scoping” but, you can always run a secondary via the Overkill perk.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: 26.9" HDR Pro Laser: Tac Laser Stock: FTAC Champion Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
The above popular setup has been the same ever since the beginning of Warzone. We covered the same class setup for HDR with full details here. Feel free to check it out to learn more about the attachments and the reason for choosing each. The only difference between our setup and the most popular current setup is that we didn’t select the variable zoom scope as our optic. Instead, chose one of the perk attachments.
9. M13
The M13 has always been a fan favorite ever since the beginning, due to its ease of handling. This gun has virtually no recoil if you put the right attachments. The fire rate of the M13 is exceptional, but the overall damage stats are meager at the high range. If the damage range of the M13 were increased, it would not be sitting at number 9. It could easily be higher than number 9. The gun is really good at close to medium range but not at slightly longer ranges. The most popular attachments for the M13 include:
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: Tempus Marksman Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
Feel free to check out our M13 loadout guide as well. Everything in our guide matches up with the current popular M13 attachments, except the Commando Foregrip underbarrel. We went with the Merc Foregrip for hip-fire accuracy in CQC situations.
8. MP5
The MP5 remains as one of the top tier SMGS in Warzone. If you were to talk about the MP5 a few Seasons back, it would have been in the top 3, but despite the fall, it is still one of the best and secures its place at number 8. This is not the Cold War MP5. This is the Modern Warfare MP5 we’re talking about. The MP5 is so versatile that it can be modified into either a short to medium range weapon or a long-ranged weapon (of course, not as long as an assault rifle but relative to other SMGs). This weapon dominates in CQCs, especially when you build this weapon for maximum hip-fire accuracy.
Barrel: Monolithic Integral Suppressor Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip Laser: 5mW Laser Stock: FTAC Collapsible Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
The laser and underbarrel attachments are a game-changer. The weapon can easily be used without aiming down sights when at close range. Feel free to check out our MP5 “mid-range” build as well.
7. M4A1
The M4A1 was, is, and will probably remain, as the most trustworthy assault rifle in the history of Modern Warfare and Warzone. This weapon is easy to handle and does some serious damage. The M4A1 can be modified into many different playstyles. It is one of the most adaptable assault rifles out there, hence it is loved by many. The following are the most popular attachments for the M4A1.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip Ammunition: 60 Round Mags Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
We’ve also covered a custom class for the M4A1. For our optic attachment, we went with the Monocle Reflex Sight. Note that at the time, the hidden “no recoil” effects of VLK were not known. Since then, we’ve started using the VLK 3.0x Optic on all our guns, and it makes a huge difference. Commando Foregrip is definitely better than the Ranger Foregrip when it comes to recoil control.
6. CR-56 AMAX
The CR-56 AMAX was one of the most underrated weapons in the previous seasons of Warzone. But leading into the last Season and the new Season 1, more and more players have gotten wind of how incredibly powerful the CR-56 AMAX actually is. Although this assault rifle requires a bit of skill and practice to use but once mastered, you will be unstoppable. It has an incredible TTK, and it can kill a fully armored player with just 5 shots to the head or 6 to the chest. The following attachments are the most popular attachments for this weapon.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440 Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip Ammunition: 45 Round Mags Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Feel free to check out our CR-56 loadout guide. We have the same attachments in our guide and explain the reasoning behind the selection of each attachment.
5. FFAR 1
The FFAR 1 is the first Cold War weapon in our top 10 most popular weapons in Warzone. The FFAR is one of the most hard-hitting assault rifles with an exceptionally fast fire rate. Due to its high fire rate, the weapon packs quite a punch, and has high recoil. Due to its high recoil, this weapon is perfect for close to medium range engagements. If you can master the weapon’s recoil pattern, you might be able to outgun opponents at longer distances. Since the weapon does really well in close to medium range, it is mostly run as a secondary via Overkill perk. Here are the most popular attachments for the FFAR in Warzone.
Muzzle: Agency Suppressor Barrel: 19.5" Task Force Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip Ammunition: Salvo 50 Rnd Fast Mag Stock: Raider Stock
4. Grau 5.56
The Grau was always one of the best assault rifles in Warzone, and it is no surprise to see it rise back up to the ranks. Before Season 4, literally, everyone was running the Grau. Why up until the Season 4? The weapon was extremely overpowered and killed the enemy players at short, medium, or long-range alike. The effectiveness of the barrels was reduced, and the weapon was nerfed overall. The nerf does not mean that the weapon is completely useless. It is still one of the best assault rifles to use in the Warzone and easy to use. You can minimize the recoil of the gun to be almost non-existent. With the new Season 1, post Warzone and Cold War integration, many are returning to the Grau, and it is safe to say the weapon still hits hard! Here are the most popular attachments for your Grau.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: Tempus 26.4" Archangel Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip Ammunition: 60 Round Mags Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Check out our Grau loadout guide as well.
3. Kilo 141
As we narrow down to our top 3, our first weapon is the most popular assault rifle in Warzone right now - the Kilo 141. This weapon dominated Warzone and still dominates, albeit is slightly nerfed in the new Season 1 of Warzone. The Kilo 141 has almost no recoil and does some serious damage even after the nerf in Season 1. It is very good at medium to long-range engagements. The following attachments will give you the best Kilo 141 to run in Warzone.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: Singuard Arms 19.8" Prowler Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip Ammunition: 60 Round Mags Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
We have covered the exact same loadout for the Kilo 141 as well. Feel free to check out our Kilo 141 loadout guide to learn more about the attachments and the reasoning behind the selection of each attachment.
2. Kar98k
The best Sniper Rifle you can find in Warzone is the Kar98k. Although classed as a Marksman Rifle, this bad boy is nothing short of a full-fledged Sniper Rifle, with its serious damage and ease of use. You can comfortably run around Verdansk with this weapon in your hand without worrying about the slower ADS speed. You can easily quick scope with this rifle and take out enemies at a close, medium, or long-range. Here are the most popular attachments for the Kar98k.
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6" Barrel Laser: Tac Laser Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape Optic: Sniper Scope
You can also check out our full custom class loadout guide for the Kar98k with a detailed explanation about all the attachments.
1. MAC-10
Coming in hot at our number one is the brand new MAC-10 from Black Ops Cold War. This weapon has a fast fire-rate, exceptionally fast TTK, and minimal recoil. The MAC-10 kills a fully armored opponent in a matter of seconds. The ideal way of running this SMG is by pairing it with a long-ranged weapon of your choice, such as an Assault Rifle or a Sniper Rifle. It would be best to run it with the Kar98k, seeing it is holding the number two spot. Given how powerful the MAC-10 is, many are calling this gun a “pay-to-win” weapon. General consensus says that those who own a copy of the Black Ops Cold War have an unfair advantage over the MW and free Warzone players. Do you think is the case? Is it a pay-to-win weapon or not? Let us know by commenting down in the comment section below. Here are the best attachments for the MAC-10 in Season 1.
Muzzle: Agency Suppressor Barrel: 5.9" Task Force Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip Ammunition: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum Stock: SAS Combat Stock
Of course, we wouldn’t miss out on making a loadout guide on one of the most powerful SMGs in the game now, would we? Feel free to check out our MAC-10 loadout guide as well. Our loadout guide is a bit different from the one ran by most. Do give it a try though - it’s terrific!
