Here’s how you can get the most out of this character.

Sayu’s Talents

Sayu’s elemental skill allows her to roll into a Windwheel, spreading the infused element to her enemies. Sayu is one of the fastest characters in the game if you use her elemental skill, which is why she is a great character for exploring the world of Teyvat.

Shuumatsu Ninja Blade

Shuumatsu Ninja Blade is Sayu’s normal and charged attack. She can perform four normal attacks and her charged attack uses Stamina to spin and deal AoE damage to nearby opponents.

Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash

Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash is Sayu’s elemental skill. Activating this skill turns Sayu into a Fuufuu Windwheel form which will roll over a short distance. After the duration of the roll, Sayu will perform a FuuFuu Whirlwind Kick. Holding this elemental skill will make Sayu’s roll duration longer, and you can control her direction. She will absorb and spread any elements other than Anemo and Geo she comes in contact with while in this form. However, staying in this form for long will increase the cooldown of the skill after use.

Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry

Mujina Flurry is Sayu’s elemental burst. Activating this elemental burst will cause Sayu to deal AoE Anemo damage to nearby enemies. She will then summon Muji-Muji Daruma. Muji-Muji Daruma will periodically deal Anemo damage to nearby enemies and heal your party members, based on Sayu’s ATK. Muji-Muji Daruma will only heal characters up to 70% of their HP and will attack nearby enemies with Anemo if all characters have more than 70% of health.

Someone More Capable

Someone More Capable is Sayu’s passive that is unlocked at Ascension Level 1. Sayu will heal your party members for 300 HP whenever she procs a Swirl elemental reaction. For every elemental mastery she has, she heals an additional 1.2 HP for your party members every 2 seconds.

No Work Today!

Unlocking this passive will increase the AoE Anemo attack of Muji-Muji Daruma created by Sayu’s Elemental Burst. When a character is healed by Muji-Muji Daruma, nearby characters will also be healed for 20% of their HP. You can unlock this passive on Ascension Level 4.

Yoohoo Art: Silencer’s Secret

Silencer’s Secret is the utility passive of Sayu. Whenever she is at your party, you will not disturb any animals or Crystalflies when you walk towards them. This passive is unlocked automatically.

Best Build for Sayu

Sayu is a great character for exploration and she works well as Anemo support. Sayu’s elemental skill can also break shields easily. Her elemental burst can also provide extra healing and AoE Anemo damage.

Anemo DPS Weapons

Wolf’s Gravestone

The Wolf’s Gravestone is one of the best weapons for Sayu. This 5-star claymore has an ATK stat which is helpful because Sayu’s healing is based on that stat. It also has an effect called Wolfish Tracker. It increases your attack by 20% and increases your party member’s attack by 40% if you hit an enemy with less than 30% HP. The effect duration is 12 seconds and it can only happen once every 30 seconds.

Favonius Greatsword

If you would like to focus on having Muji-Muji Daruma out in the field often, Favonius Greatsword is a good option. This 4-star claymore has an energy recharge stat and the effect called Windfall. Whenever your score a critical hit, you have a 60% chance to generate Elemental Particles which will give 6 energy to the character on the field. This effect can happen once every 12 seconds.

Elemental Support Weapons

Skyward Pride

The Skyward Pride is a 5-star Claymore obtainable through Wishes. It has an energy recharge stat and gives you the effect called Sky-ripping Dragon Spine, which increases all your damage by 8%. When you use your elemental burst or perform a normal or charged attack, it summons a vacuum blade that deals 80% of your attack to opponents on its path. This effect lasts for 20 seconds and you can summon up to 8 Vacuum Blades.

Katsuragikiri Nagamasa

You can unlock the Katsuragikiri Nagamasa by completing the Tatara Tales World Quest. This 4-star weapon has an energy recharge stat and applies the effect called Samurai Conduct, which increases your elemental skill damage by 6%. When your elemental skill hits an enemy, you will lose 3 energy but you will regenerate 6 energy for every 2 seconds in the next 6 seconds. The effect can be triggered every 10 seconds.

Sayu’s Artifact Set

Whether you are building Sayu as a healer or sub-DPS, you need to focus on getting Elemental Mastery sub-stats on her Artifact pieces.

Viridescent Venerer (4 pieces)

The best artifact set for Sayu is 4 pieces of Viridescent Venerer. Your priority substat is Elemental Mastery for all pieces. 2 items of this set will give you a 15% Anemo damage bonus, and equipping 4 pieces of this set will increase your Swirl damage by 60%. It will also decrease the resistance of the enemy on the element infused by the swirl by 40% for 10 seconds.

Viridescent Venerer (2 pieces) / Gladiator’s Finale (2 pieces)

You can also use 2 pieces of Viridescent Venerer and 2 pieces of Gladiator’s Finale. The former will increase your Anemo damage while the latter will increase your ATK by 18%. You can get the Viridescent Venerer set from the Valley of Remembrance domain and the Gladiator’s Finale set on defeating World Bosses.

Team Compositions

Sayu is a great support character that can fit with any team that requires Anemo support. Her elemental skill can spread the Swirl reaction and can infuse with elements easily. Below are some of the teams that you can build with Sayu.

Double Anemo

Combining both Sayu and Venti into the team will give you Anemo resonance. This resonance will decrease your Stamina consumption by 15% and give you a 5% movement speed bonus. Your skill’s cooldown will also decrease by 5%. Ganyu will be your main DPS and Mona will give cause elemental reactions and increase the damage of your Main DPS.

Double Cryo

You can also use both Ayaka and Ganyu to get a Cryo resonance. This resonance will decrease the amount of time you are affected by electro by 40%. Your CRIT Rate will also increase by 15% against enemies that are affected by Cryo. Xiao will also act as your Sub-DPS and Sayu will be the main healer and support of the team.

Affordable Team

If you are looking for an affordable or budget-friendly team for Sayu, you can make Kaeya your main DPS. You can choose between Fischl or Lisa to create a Superconduct elemental reaction. Xiangling is also a great addition to the Pyro elemental reaction but you can substitute her with Barbara if you would like more healing and support aside from Sayu.

Summary

Sayu is a 4-star Anemo Character from Inazuma. Her elemental skill allows her to cover great distances in a short period, making her one of the best characters for exploration. Sayu also has a unique passive which allows her to get near animals and wildlife without disturbing them or making them run away. This passive is great for collecting Crystalflies which are necessary for creating condensed resin.
